The Forever Everton Song

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Everton is playing the MLS All-Stars tonight in Salt Lake City at 9:30pm Eastern time live on ESPN2 and Galavision.  I thought a little video about them would be fitting.  English soccer fans can come up with some songs I tell ya!  I love how the producer of this video only shows Everton scoring goals against their biggest rival Liverpool.

Everton of course has the legendary American goalkeeper Tim Howard so I am sure the fans will all be excited to see him.  I am also interested in checking out Americans Cody Arnoux and Anton Peterlin.  These two were signed recenlty by Everton straight out of of college and the PDL league.

Should be a great game and congrats to two of our past Jared Montz Soccer Podcast guests Zach Thornton and Will Johnson for earning call ups to the All-Star game!

Will you be watching?  Any score predictions?

This week’s guest on the Jared Montz Soccer Podcast is Chivas USA’s in form goalie Zach Thornton.  Zach is an MLS league vet who had a couple of down years, but is now proving again why when you look behind you and see him in between the posts you know your team has a great shot of winning.

A list of his honors include:

MLS Cup Champion (1998)
U.S. Open Cup Champion (1998, 2000, 2003)
MLS Supporters Shield (2003)
MLS All-Star (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003)
Chicago Fire MVP (2002)
Chicago Fire Defender of the Year (2001, 2002)
Goalkeeper of the Year (1998)

On the pod Zach spoke about Chivas USA’s great start to the season, reasons for his excellent form, how he mentally managed to be patient the past few years not being a regular starter, the coaching style of Preki, what it is like to play in an LA derby, answered some user submitted questions, and previewed their upcoming game against Real Salt Lake this Saturday.  Zach is an experienced intelligent player and his answers were very insightful and well delivered.  Plus, we had a few good laughs too!

Chivas USA is the MLS leader in points right now and with only 3 goals against in 8 games and Zach Thornton is a big reason why.  On the podcast we are going to talk about Chivas USA’s great start to the season, reason for Zach’s excellent form, how he mentally managed to be patient the past few years not being a regular starter, the coaching style of Preki, what it is like to play in an LA derby, and preview their upcoming game against Real Salt Lake this Saturday.

As always we are also going to take a few user submitted questions.  So if you have a question for Zach please email me, send me a message on your social network of choice, post a comment below, or message me via your Online Soccer Academy message center by 8pm central time tonight so I can have it in time for the interview.

This podcast will be available to listen to starting tomorrow morning right here at JMSoccer10.com or you can also subscribe via iTunes.
