If you are in Portland this Thursday be sure and get out to PGE Park and watch Jamie and the Aztex take on the Portland Timbers.  Kick off is for 7pm west coast time.  If you can’t make it to the game I am not sure you can watch on TV or online.  My advice is follow the Austin Aztex account on Twitter and Facebook and maybe they will be posting game updates.  Who knows maybe Jamie will tweet out updates as he is playing!  His Twitter name is JamieWatson22.

I’d love to hear what you think of the interview, the season and career change Jamie is having, if you like following soccer players on Twitter and how you think the Aztex will do against Portland and in the rest of the season.  Please feel free to share your thoughts and comments below in the comments section.  Or let me know what you think via Facebook, Twitter, or your Online Soccer Academy account.

Thanks for listening and/or watching!

Video: Chicago Fire’s Technical Director Frank Klopas on JMS Podcast

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Last week’s guest on the Jared Montz Soccer Podcast was Frank Klopas.  Frank is the Technical Director for the Chicago Fire and he is a legend in the Chicago soccer scene.  Frank is an MLS alumni, former Chicago Fire and USMNT player and in 2004 was inducted into the Chicago Fire’s “Ring of Fire” which is their hall of fame.

On the podcast we talked about the Fire’s two new designated player signings Nery Castillo and Freddie Ljungberg, how he makes decisions on players, he explains his day to day responsibilities, discuss the Fire’s youth and Academy teams, took a few user submitted questions and then previewed Sunday’s game against the New York Red Bulls.  I apologize for the delay in getting this podcast on the internet airwaves before this past Sunday’s Fire game.  We were having technical issues last week due to a change we made recently to a new web development company.  90 percent of the interview is relevant though so it is still a good listen, I promise!  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Yesterday I posted the audio version and today I am posting the video version.  Enjoy!

This podcast is 31 minutes and 23 seconds.  Please feel free to hit play, open a new tab, hang out on Facebook, surf the web or get some work done while you listen.

If you are a golfer, a Fire fan or both then pick up a few tickets to the Frank Klopas Charity Golf Outing so you can meet Frank and hang out with the Chicago Fire players.  It will be a good time!

I’d love to hear what you thought of the interview, the two new DP’s, how the Fire view their Academy program and what you thought of Sunday’s “Battle of the DP’s” game.  Please feel free to share your thoughts and comments below in the comments section.  Or let me know what you think via Facebook, Twitter, or your Online Soccer Academy account.  Thank again for your patience and understanding about my delay on the podcast, I appreciate it.

Thanks for listening.
