Yesterday I got the opportunity to meet, drive around and hang out with Gary Vaynerchuk, Internet/Social Media/Business superstar, during his stop in New Orleans for his book tour.

He is an awesome guy and for someone who is wildly successful he is very humble and appreciative of everyone around him.  Which was great to see!

I learned a lot watching him do his book signing, tape a live show and then do about an hour or so talk plus Q&A from the audience.

Wow, what can I say!  I am pretty excited and a tad nervous to be hanging out and driving Gary Vaynerchuk around New Orleans today.  Gary is coming in town this afternoon for his book tour.  If you are interested head over to the Cost Plus World Market in New Orleans at 5:30pm today for his book signing.

For those of you that don’t know Gary is a huge Internet/Social Media/Business superstar and someone I look up too in the business world.  Last time I was this nervous to meet another man it was David Beckham!

My Online Soccer Academy and I had the honor of being talked about on pg 96 of his New York Times Best-Selling book “Crush It” which came out about a month ago; the one he is signing today.

There are about a million things I could say right now, but I need to run and make sure my car is clean!  Don’t want Gary smelling like stinky soccer cleats at his book signing!

I will say this… if you “Believe in it” and back that up with hard work anything in life is possible!

Pumped this morning when the mailman delivered my two autographed copies “Crush It” I asked for in exchange for having my story in Gary’s book!!

As you might have seen late last week on my VLOG post I am super excited right now!!  Gary Vaynerchuk, the new internet social media poster boy, is releasing his 1st business book tomorrow October 13th called Crush It!  The book is going to be wildly popular, he will be on the majority of popular TV shows like Ellen, Conan, CNN, Oprah, and probably ESPN!  Oh yeah, it is a 7 figure book deal he signed too!

Gary mailed me a copy last week before it came out at the stores because he talks about my Online Soccer Academy and my story on pg 96 of his book.  It’s a huge part of the page too and also the biggest example of someone using social media in his book!!  The USMNT might have just qualified for the World Cup and my dream of doing that will never become reality because of my retirement from pro soccer so moments like this are now my World Cup!!  When I got the book and saw for sure I was in it I was doing the “Believe in it” fist pump all over my office!!  This is a huge, huge deal for my Online Soccer Academy and I and I want to show my thanks to all of my players, blog readers, podcast listeners, friends, family, and fans!  Without yall none of this could happen and none of it would matter if I couldn’t share it with my community!
