Shreveport United Motivational Speech
Last Monday, May 4th, I was invited to speak at the 1st ever Shreveport United Awards Banquet in Shreveport, Louisiana. For a 1st time event it was very well put together! Kim Ates and the rest of the board members did an excellent job, not to mention they were only expecting a 100 or so people and got more like 500 the day of!
During my speech I talked about what it takes to achieve your dreams, what my slogan “Believe in it” means, how I reached my dream of playing professional soccer, gave players my advice, and told them a little bit about what I do now that I am living a different dream then the one I had growing up. I hope you enjoy it!
It was a lot of fun to give my speech to such an enthusiastic crowd! Hearing kids shouting “believe in it” and clapping/screaming during the speech was a cool feeling!
Below are some of the pictures I took at afterward.

As a speaker I donated a door prize and Chris is the player that won it! A free week at the Jared Montz Pro Soccer Camps in Shreveport! Not a bad prize if I say so myself!

This is Dean Abdehou, one of my Online Soccer Academy players, representing the JMS “Believe in it” sweatband with a limited edition sample version JMS polo. He won the award for best offensive player on his team. If you haven’t seen it yet check out the skills video I featured in for Dean’s youtube channel over the winter; it’s pretty cool! Congrats Dean!

Pictured left to right: Dean Abdehou, Jared Montz, Jordan Abdehou, Zach Kelly, Mark from LSA, and Conner Randel. All of these guys attended my Pre-College camp last summer so it was good to see them again. Except for Mark in the yellow, he didn’t come to camp!

Pictured here is Logan Ates. He is one of my campers and I was pumped to see him sporting my JMS Academy Short Sleeve training top! Looking good Logan, looking good…

I am standing with Brennan Randel who was a Pre-College camper of mine last summer. I believe he won the Shreveport United player of the year award and don’t’ quote me but I think he was the Louisiana High School Player of the year too. Either way he is a great player, awesome guy, and will be playing soccer in college at West Point this fall. I am very proud of him!
Thanks again for having me Shreveport United and special thanks to Kim Ates for inviting me! I hope you enjoyed the speech and I look forward to seeing yall again soon at my soccer camp this summer starting on June 8th.
Keep Believing in it and keep living the dream!
JM
