Gabby Lachney – Story of Sportsmanship
Of course I want my players to do well in soccer and go as far in the game as they want. But most importantly I want my players to succeed in life first and soccer second. I think many lessons taught on the soccer field can be directly translated into real life. One such important lesson is sportsmanship!
Pictured above is Gabby Lachney, one of my Online Soccer Academy players and campers from Louisiana. She showed up for her game a few weeks ago and the opposing team only had six players. Instead of thinking “we can really whoop up on this team” she volunteered to play goalie for them.
This is what her mom, Stephanie, had to say, “She rocked it! It was really cute because every time she made a save, BOTH team’s parents were cheering for her. Great day……”
Personally I am very proud of Gabby for stepping up and being a great sportsman! Keep doing the right thing Gabby and you will never go wrong!
