With ESPN’s announcement yesterday about their World Cup coverage I figured it would be a good time to show some past World Cup goals.  How about these beauties from the 2006 World Cup!

Hard to pick a favorite.  Who would you say had the best goal?

Wow, what a final!  For the neutral supporter the game had a lot to it; drama, suspense, and emotion.

I was so sad to see Morales go out early in the game injured.  I saw someone post something on Twitter that Morales crying was a bad look for MLS.  Personally I think that is not true at all!  It just shows how much the game means to him and those are exactly the players you want on your team and in our league.

Didn’t watch this game because I was on a plane.  Not happy about the loss, but it happens.

Good strike by Cunningham!  It will be interesting to see how he does in January if he gets called in for that USMNT camp. Do you think he could fill the Charlie Davies role?

BTW a friend of mine, Kirt Huffman, who is the massage therapist for the Fire took that shot Castro belted into the stands around the 3 minute 50 second mark to the head!  He is a trooper but had to go to the hospital to get checked out.  Hope you are feeling better today buddy!  If you want to send him an “all the best” you can find him on his Facebook page.
